Overhead travelling cranes are very useful equipment and commonly used in the industrial sector. Workers are commonly asked to carry out handling throughout the different stages of product manufacturing. The fact of performing the same handling tasks, day after day, contributes to increasing the risks of accident given the presence of a kind of habituation to risk. It is therefore essential that the user be familiar with the components and related methods for using them. In addition, he/she must know the related risks and must be able to control them in order to avoid any problematic or hazardous situations.
The training is aimed primarily at regular and occasional workers who want to carry out handling work using an overhead crane. If you work in the industrial or construction sectors, or are simply interested in acquiring new skills, this course is for you.
In order to comply with the RSST section 254.1, every overhead travelling crane operator must receive practical training. The practical training must pertain to the subjects described in subparagraphs 1 to 6 of the second paragraph and be given in the workplace under conditions that do not expose the operator and other workers to hazards arising from the overhead travelling crane operation training. The training must also be of sufficient duration to enable the overhead travelling crane and hoisting accessories to be operated safely.
